Did you know that Thunderbird used to host a hot air balloon race? Beginning in 1975 to the early 2000s, the school hosted a balloon race on the Glendale campus. Proceeds from the race helped fund student scholarships. We have a beautiful online exhibit of balloon race items on the Arizona Memory Project site and we recently added 61 new items donated by Tbird alum, Jay Heiser '85.
