Alta Vista Elementary Alta Vista Elementary School - Home of the Aviators! 🛩 We offer a strong academic program where individual needs and learning styles of children are addressed.

Alta Vista Elementary provides a well-rounded, student-centered education in preparation for continuing education and life skills. Every student at Alta Vista receives daily interventions. We do Tier II interventions at the grade level, responding to recently taught materials and Tier III interventions in our Literacy Lab. In addition, after-school interventions are provided through a 21st Century

Grant. All interventions are planned using data and implemented utilizing research-based materials and first, best instruction.

We have some GOOD NEWS to share! 🎉

We are so excited to welcome Imging Solutions as a new business partner of Alta Vista Elementary! They generously donated T-shirts for EVERY SINGLE Aviator! 👕

These shirts will be given to students on the day of their field trips so that we can match as a group, easily identify our students, and help keep everyone safe while we are out in the community. And the best part? Students get to keep their shirts and wear them proudly to show their Aviator Pride!

A HUGE thank you to Chelsea and Imging Solutions for this incredibly generous donation. Your support of our students and school community is so greatly appreciated! We are thankful to have community partners who believe in our Aviators. 🥰

Our Guiding Coalition met again today, and we continued the important work of looking closely at our student data and asking ourselves, “What can we do differently, better, or more efficiently to improve outcomes for our students?”

Today, our team focused on math data and worked together to identify possible root causes in four key areas:
📚 Instruction
📊 Data
⚙️ Systems
👩‍🎓 Student Factors

This is just the beginning of the work, but our goal is clear: we want instruction at Alta Vista to be the very best it can be!

Our Guiding Coalition represents staff from across our campus, and together we are committed to identifying what our students need, developing intentional plans, and bringing that work back to our teams.

We know that supporting students doesn't happen in isolation. That's why we are committed to ongoing Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) where our teachers can learn, collaborate, reflect, and grow together. When we grow as educators, our students benefit. 📚

We wrapped up another week by celebrating our Weekly Aviator Winners! 🥳

Throughout the week, students can earn Aviator Slips for demonstrating what it means to be SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL. 👏🏽

Students turn in their Aviator Slips, and every Friday, Mr. Michael pulls the lucky names! 🎟️🎉 Those students get to come pick out a special prize as a way to celebrate their positive choices.

We are so proud of these Aviators and the hard work they've shown during our first month of school! Your positive choices, kindness, and great behavior do not go unnoticed!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating our August Students of the Month! 🎉

These amazing Aviators were nominated by their homeroom teacher or special areas teacher because they consistently show what it means to be SAFE, RESPECTFUL, and RESPONSIBLE. 👏🏽
