Community leaders met with Candidate Stewart yesterday (Jan 25th), where Stewart agreed to some basic protections for LGBT citizens in the realms of employment and other public arenas, but failed to recognize the inherent equality of our love. CD8 residents have a tough choice ahead, but it's encouraging that 2 out of the 3 candidates in this race believe in our right to marry.

Long before support for marriage equality was mainstream, let's take a moment on this day to remember and honor Coretta Scott King, a social justice trailblazer who understood, like her husband, that there are no exceptions to standing against discrimination. This video is from 18 years ago, a time when supporting the LGBTQ community was considered cultural su***de. Thank you for standing with us - and remembering that injustice anywhere is always a threat to justice everywhere.

No Hate in CD8 joins the rest of the country in celebrating the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Even more than 45 years later, his statements on social justice and equality remain just as relevant as they were the day they were spoken.

We've picked up well over 10 likes in the last two hours - wow, thank you for the support! We're excited to be pushing the positive message of tolerance and equality for all in Phoenix City Council District 8 - and we have the momentum, because fewer and fewer Americans are opting for the intolerance of the past.
