✨🎉Senior Shout Out🎉✨ We’re highlighting our amazing and talented seniors we have with us this season! For our last one, meet Mia!

Mia Kovalik (Sugar Plum Fairy) - Mia, performing the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy, is a senior at Perkiomen Valley High School, where she actively participates in many extracurricular activities such as National Honors Society, National Art Honors Society, Key Club, and as founder/president of the Fashion Cultures and Design Club at her school. Through her hard work and dedication, Mia has managed to maintain a balance between her school and dance life. Mia has been a devoted dancer, studying at Kimberton Dance Academy since the age of seven, where she learned various styles including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and contemporary. Additionally, she has trained and studied alongside the Rock School for Dance Education and the School of Philadelphia Ballet for summer intensive programs. During her time training at KDA, Mia discovered her passion for dance and expanded her involvement at the studio by becoming a Performance Company member, as well as began participating in SVRDC’s, The Nutcracker.

This being Mia’s final year of high school, she plans to continue her dance education by going to college as a Dance and Exercise Science double-major before pursuing a career in dance professionally, or working as a dance physical therapist. Mia would like to express her sincere appreciation for her teachers Miss Brittany, Mr. Tim, Miss Kristina, Miss Heather, and Mr. Mike for their guidance and inspiration in coaching Mia in her journey as a dancer. She would also like to thank her family and friends for their unwavering support

Molly Boylan (Candycane Lead) - Molly is a senior at Owen J. Roberts, and has been dancing with Kimberton Dance Academy since 2012. She has spent many years experiencing the magic of SVRDC’s Nutcracker from the audience, but is thrilled to be a part of the performance this year. She would like to express immense gratitude for all of her teachers, family, and friends for supporting and encouraging her along this journey. Molly will forever cherish the memories made with SVRDC and wishes nothing but the best to all the dancers!

✨🎉Senior Shout Out🎉✨ We’re highlighting our amazing and talented seniors we have with us this season! Next up, meet Christianna!

Christianna Carfagno (Dew Drop) - Christianna has been dancing for 5 years and has spent the last 3 years at Kimberton Dance Academy training under the artistic guidance of Brittany Ryan, Kristina Styers, and Tim Early. She is currently an apprentice with Glorify Performing Arts, a Christian contemporary ballet company, and also trains with Good Samaritan Dance Academy.
Christianna has devoted her summers to training with Ballet Magnificat! in Jackson, Mississippi, studying under Kathy Thibodeaux and Sol Maisonet.

The SVRDC Nutcracker holds a very special place in her heart, and she will miss it dearly. Christianna is honored and excited to dance the role of Dew Drop in her third and final Nutcracker, sharing the stage with her friends. She is deeply grateful for the guidance and training she has received from her teachers as well as the love and support from her family and friends.

As she prepares to graduate from homeschool, Christianna looks forward to continuing her journey in dance, carrying with her the memories, friendships, and faith that have shaped her into the young woman she is today.

✨🎉Senior Shout Out🎉✨ We’re highlighting our amazing and talented seniors we have with us this season! First up, meet Nina!

Nina Chakraborty (Candycane Lead) - Nina is a senior at Perkiomen Valley High School and has been a dancer for more than 14 years. Nina started with ballet and tap as a preschooler and then began learning Kuchipudi, a style of Indian classical dance, when she was six. Nina expressed a desire to participate in a Nutcracker production, which led her to KDA and SVRDC when she was 14. Being a part of the Nutcracker Ballet and all the roles she’s played over the past four years have become such a special part of her life - from a maid in the party scene, Coffee demi-lead, Corps member of Flowers, Snow, Hot Chocolate, and Marzipan, the Nutcracker, and finally Russian Trepak and Candy Cane leads in her senior year. Nina is beyond thankful for the amazing friends and memories from her time at KDA and SVRDC and incredibly grateful to all her dance teachers for their instruction in artistry, technique, and performance.

Along with balancing her academic responsibilities, dance classes, and rehearsals for both ballet and Kuchipudi, Nina is also a member of NHS, NAHS, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and World Language Mentoring. Nina intends to continue dancing as a hobby while pursuing her undergraduate degree in neuroscience, anthropology, and Spanish.
