Nighttime milling and paving will continue next week (8/23 through 8/27) on U.S. 422 in Montgomery County as part of PennDOT’s $6.2 million resurfacing project.

Lane closures will be in place August 23–27 on both eastbound (7pm-5am) and westbound (8pm -6am) U.S. 422 between Royersford Road and Troutman Road in Limerick and Upper Providence Townships.

Expect overnight delays and plan extra travel time.

Work includes milling, new pavement, updated markings, rumble strips, and repairs, weather permitting.

The US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly has issued a Flood Watch for our area until 2:00 AM. Severe Thunderstorms are also possible this evening. Do not drive around barricades, first responders and road crews place them to protect you from flooded roads, down trees, and wires. Remember, Turn Around, Don't Drown!

UPT Trappe Office of Emergency Management teamed up with Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services to distribute free Potassium Iodide (KI) tablets at the Upper Providence Township Administration Building on Thursday.

A solid collaboration between the UPT Emergency Operations Team and Montgomery County—thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the event run smoothly.

Stop in the Meeting Hall at the UPT Montgomery County Administration Building on Thursday August 13 from 9 AM - 3 PM to receive your free KI tablets!

Meet Alanah Carroll, our awesome UPT-Trappe Office of Emergency Management Intern! Alanah joined us in June and jumped right into the action.

She’s currently a sophomore in the Emergency Management/Homeland Security program at Pennsylvania College of Technology — and if that’s not impressive enough, she also serves as a Firefighter/EMT with the Royersford Fire Department and is a proud member of the Pennsylvania National Guard.

We’re grateful for her dedication, her drive, and the energy she’s brought to our team. Thanks for spending your summer with us, Alanah!

Congratulations to Firefighter/EMT Josh R***r!
Josh recently earned his PEMA (PA Emergency Management Agency) Municipal Staff Associate Certification.

This certification ensures municipal emergency management personnel are equipped with the essential knowledge and skills needed to help their communities prepare for and respond to emergencies. Josh’s training included topics such as emergency operations planning, the Incident Command System, and hazard mitigation.

UPT-Trappe Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Dan Schafer recently presented Josh with his certificate.

Outstanding work, Josh — thank you for your dedication and commitment to public safety!

Cider Mill Road will be closed to all traffic, including emergency service vehicles, 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 7am 𝘁𝗼 5pm 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝟯 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱. The contractor intends to leave the road open to traffic overnight and on weekends.

The closure will take place in the vicinity of the Perkiomen Trail crossing between the Arcola Road bridge and Minuteman Drive and will affect the Perkiomen Trail crossing at Cider Mill Road (between Oaks and Collegeville on the trail).
