On Tuesday night, our team hosted a joint drone training session that included a review of recent FAA updates followed by several standardized NIST proficiency tests. These quick‑trial evaluations help ensure pilots maintain strong fundamentals—aircraft control, safety checks, and consistent operational proficiency.
We were joined by FAA‑licensed Remote Pilots from the UPT Police Department, Lower Providence Township Police Department, Montgomery County, PA, and the Friendship Fire Company Diving-Rescue Unit Search & Rescue Team from Phoenixville.
Drone technology has become an essential tool across public safety—supporting search and rescue missions, assisting law enforcement during critical incidents, and providing real‑time aerial awareness at large fire scenes.
Training together strengthens our readiness for the moments when these capabilities matter most. Night operations are a skill set that requires regular practice to stay sharp.
A big thank‑you to UPT Police Sgt. Solorio for coordinating the session.
