Well, it has been a day filled with preparation here at The Crosby Arboretum! We have enjoyed preparing for this event and we're looking forward to tomorrow!

Congratulations to our Photographers! The entries were amazing and we absolutely cannot wait for you to see these photos!! The winners have been notified. The award ceremony will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, Sept. 20th at BugFest (on the Pavilion). This is when the photographers will find out which specific award they have won. Come check out the entries and last years winner in our photo gallery

A huge thank you to our photo competition judges: Donna Bush and Robert Smith. They are absolutely brilliant and we are so thankful to have them judge this competition for the third year in a row.

On Saturday, we will have our Friday exhibitors return, and we will also have the
following people join us:

Stephen Barney from The Scarab Lab - live Beetles!
Stephen has worked on many films that have required insects - be sure
to stop by his amazing exhibit!

Entomologist Kelly Carruthers will join the MSU Bug Blues Team and
is from the University of Georgia

Linda Auld, better known as The NOLA Bug Lady - she will be showing
live caterpillars - it's not a BugFest without Linda!!

MDMR and the MS Gulf Coast National Heritage Area - please come say hello
to Andrew and Marie

The Hattiesburg Zoo - Elliot never disappoints and will be bringing live
ambassador wildlife!

Frontier Wildlife Solutions - Jeremy Everett is permitted and licensed to
relocate wildlife. We are so pleased to have him join us

Butterflies in the Pass - Ms. Wendy - we are already gearing up for their event on
Oct. 4th

Gulf Coast Chapter of MNPS - our good friend Jen Buchanan will be on hand
to answer questions about Native Plants and their importance!

On Saturday, we will have a HUGE Craft Area for children. They can celebrate
insects by decorating bandanas or painting a rock like their favorite bug.
Free temporary insect tatoos, stickers, and more....

Food on Saturday...
Sweet Sugary Homestead - Layna will be joining us again with her amazing
breads
Snoball Station - Snoballs and Pickles
Kickin' and Lickin' BBQ - Wings, Nachos, BBQ and so much more!
Gulf Coast Coffee - we love their brews!!

And, one of our favorites...Ms. Jean will be showing and selling her floral artwork.
