In January, we received 9 competitive bids for the first phase of site improvements and infrastructure development at the Pearl River County Technology Park — with the winning bid awarded to a local contractor. Just four months later, the site has been transformed and is now ready to move into the next phase!

🏥 This past week, the PRCEDD and the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors celebrated National Hospital Week by showing our appreciation to the healthcare heroes at Highland Community Hospital and the Pearl River County Hospital & Nursing Home.

The healthcare industry is one of the largest employment sectors for our community and is vital to the quality of life for Pearl River County. Healthcare remains a targeted industry for recruitment for the County as well as supporting the site development efforts of the medical districts throughout our community, with the following data for Pearl River County showing why:

👩‍⚕️1,904 / 13,768 jobs (13.83%) are in the “Health Care and Social Assistance” industry;
💲the average annual wage for ^ is $43,291.00 (10.97% more than the average across all industries, $39,011.00);
🩺 833 / 1,904 are employed as “Healthcare Practitioners and Technical” and earn a mean annual wage of $78,100!
