I invite the community to join me for a local tradition in observation of the 75th Anniversary of the National Day of Prayer.

First established by a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress in 1952 and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman, the National Day of Prayer is a day for the nation to come together in unity.

To ensure this annual tradition reaches every corner of the community, the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast now moves to a different location each year. The 2026 gathering will be held at the new Resurrection Life facility.

A special thank you goes to Brother Allen Hickman for his dedicated work in coordinating this event for the community year after year.

Join me, Brother Allen and neighbors from across the city for a morning of music, breakfast, speakers and community fellowship.

📣 Municipal Court Clerk Week 📣

Today, we proudly recognize and celebrate Municipal Court Clerk Day, as proclaimed by Governor Tate Reeves! 👏

At Picayune Municipal Court, we are incredibly thankful for the hard work, dedication, and professionalism our clerks show every single day. From helping citizens navigate the court process, handling payments and records, preparing court documents, assisting victims, managing busy court dockets, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes — our clerks truly do it all.

Most people only see a small part of what happens at court, but our staff works tirelessly every day to serve the public with patience, compassion, and integrity.

Please join us in thanking the amazing clerks of Picayune Municipal Court for everything they do for our court, our city, and our community! 💙⚖️

Today we pause to reflect on Aurora, one year later. In her memory, our community came together in the most beautiful way, donating warmies, giving generously, and helping us create Aurora's Cubby.

To date, we've raised over $4,100 and received 100 warmies donated in her honor. Every gift is a reminder that even in grief, love wins. Aurora's Cubby will continue to be a place of comfort and healing for children who walk through our doors, a lasting legacy of the little girl who touched so many hearts.

Do we want you paying them to a scammer? Absolutely NOT.
