The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southwestern Pickens County until 3:30 p.m. Expect wind gusts up to 60 mph and possible quarter size hail. Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected in some areas. For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Pickens County non-essential offices will be closed this Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. This includes all recycle center locations. Recycling centers and all other non-essential offices will reopen with normal hours on Tuesday, May 26. We hope you have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

Stop by the courtyard of the Pickens County Administration Building today for our Third Thursday Eat and Greet, featuring Freddy B's BBQ as our truck of the month. They'll be serving delicious BBQ and more during lunch (11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.). Fancy Fizz Co will also be in the courtyard serving fun energy drinks and dirty sodas from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
