⚡️ Happy Friday, Pickens Middle School! ⚡️

We started Day 19 with the STORM Pancake Breakfast 🥞☀️, followed by our morning assembly which, of course, included spinning the wheel for House points! 🎡🏆

Other highlights from today include some amazing learning experiences happening in our classrooms 📚✨. Then, we ended the week with our House Assembly where our House leaders took the lead and helped make it a fun and memorable way to wrap up the week! 🏠⚡️

⚡️ Day 18 at Pickens Middle! ⚡️

We started our morning with our volleyball teams getting pumped up for tonight’s scrimmage! 🏐❤️💙

The excitement continued throughout the day as our Sparks worked hard and made learning happen; featured are lessons in ELA and science. 📚🔬

Today’s highlights also include a showcase of student artwork 🎨, a group photo of our amazing Student Ambassadors, and plenty of action from tonight’s volleyball scrimmage! 🏐🔥

What a great day to be a Spark! ⚡️

🌟 Spark Kindness Literacy Night is coming up Thursday, September 3! This is a FREE event sponsored by Title I, but we need your RSVP by Friday, August 28. Scan the QR code in the image above to RSVP! We can’t wait for an evening filled with literacy, kindness, and fun! 📖✨

🏐 RED OUT VOLLEYBALL GAME — Thursday, August 27, at 5:30 PM! Come out and cheer on our Sparks! This is a scrimmage, and admission is $5. Concessions will be available! ❤️💙

We’re also celebrating some very special members of our Spark family! 🎉 Featured today are our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Looper, and our Support Employee of the Year, Mrs. Reid, with Dr. King. On Tuesday night, our district celebrated all of our Teachers of the Year and Support Employees of the Year and announced the district winners. We are so proud of Mrs. Looper and Mrs. Reid for representing us so well! 👏✨

And, of course, we had to showcase a couple of examples of the amazing student work happening throughout Pickens Middle! Our Sparks continue to learn, create, collaborate, and shine! ⚡️

Day 16 for our Sparks was all about working with others and engaging in the learning process! 💙⚡️❤️

We loved getting into our classrooms to capture the opportunities our students had to grow and learn throughout the school day! ⚡️📚

Also highlighted are our induction teachers as they gathered after school for their monthly district Professional Learning Community meeting! 🤝 These opportunities to collaborate, learn from one another, and grow together are so important to the success of our teachers and students.

✨ Day 15 ✨ was another great day at Pickens Middle! 💙❤️ We’re so thankful for the many opportunities we have to learn, grow, and connect as a school community!

Today, we held our Title I and School Improvement Council meeting. Thank you to everyone who took the time to be part of these important conversations and help us continue making Pickens Middle the best it can be!

Today’s highlights also include a presentation in our Introduction to AI course, highlighting strong text evidence in 7th grade ELA, and the DRY MIX song in 6th grade science! 🧠📚🔬

We love seeing our Sparks engaged, collaborating, and making learning happen every day! ⚡️

Also highlighted are our volleyball teams! They participated in the West-Oak Rumble on Saturday! 8th grade won the gold bracket, and 7th grade won the silver bracket! Way to go Sparks! 💙⚡️❤️

And you know what that means… HOUSE SHIRT DAY! 🏠🖤❤️💚💙 Our Houses earned points today not only by showing off their House spirit, but also by spinning the wheel! 🎡🙌

Day 14 was filled with learning, collaboration, and House pride! 📚✨ We loved seeing our ProTeam students learning in the media center, students working together in groups, and even some of our science classes grouped by Houses! 🧪🏠

And finally, we spotted some of our middle schoolers under the Friday night lights with the Pickens High School Marching Band! 🏈🌟

Tomorrow is Friday, which means it’s HOUSE SHIRT DAY! 🏠👕 Help your House earn points by wearing your House shirt and showing your House pride! 🖤❤️⚡️💚💙

Our Learning Opportunity Highlight for Day 13 comes from our 8th grade ELA classes! 📚

Each period, Mrs. Fowler and Mrs. Looper combined their classes in the media center to review for an upcoming quiz. Students were divided into two groups—the Socs and the Greasers—to experience the perspectives and points of view of these two rival teenage groups from The Outsiders.

We loved seeing our students having FUN while LEARNING! What a great way to bring literature to life! 📖✨

We can’t wait to see everyone in their House shirts tomorrow! Let’s earn those points! 🏆

Day 12 at Pickens Middle School was another day filled with meaningful learning opportunities! ⚡️📚

Today, Mrs. Roper had the opportunity to visit some of our students who are taking classes at the Pickens County Career & Technology Center! We love seeing our students explore their interests and gain hands-on experiences that prepare them for their futures. 👏

Also featured in today’s pictures are students working in small groups with their teachers, along with hands-on learning happening in our Project Lead the Way and art courses! 🎨🔧

We can’t wait to see what amazing learning opportunities our students get to experience tomorrow! ❤️⚡️💙
