Charter School Specialists Charter School Specialists has assisted in the successful development and implementation of more than 100 schools.

Charter School Specialists assists developers, education management organizations, and school districts. The CSS team provides technical assistance related to the development of charter school applications and contracts, and guides developers through the charter school start-up process. We provide technical assistance to charter schools from pre-operation planning, through early operations, and ongoing school improvement and data management.

This Teacher Appreciation Week, we celebrate all of the incredible educators at Buckeye Community School Fremont for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to student success. Today, we are proud to shine a special spotlight on two staff members whose impact stands out in extraordinary ways:

✨ Missi Yanda
A veteran Math teacher, Missi consistently goes above and beyond for her students. She truly embodies one of Buckeye’s culture codes—Barrier Buster—by doing whatever it takes to support student success. When Missi learned that a senior student had been incarcerated, she took the initiative to work with that student at the county jail, helping ensure they stayed on track to graduate. Because of her commitment, that student earned their diploma. Outstanding work, Missi!

✨ Kara Gogolek
Kara exemplifies professionalism in education. As an Intervention Specialist, she is highly motivated, organized, and deeply caring in her work with students. Beyond her direct impact in the classroom, Kara also serves as a mentor to younger teachers, helping them grow and succeed in the profession. She is a tremendous role model for both students and staff. Outstanding work, Kara!

At Cypress High, Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to celebrate educators who shape not only strong students—but compassionate future professionals.

Under the leadership of Ms. Breanna Horn, Cypress Healthcare students are experiencing what it truly means to learn with purpose. In her program, students don’t just build medical knowledge and technical skills—they develop empathy, professionalism, and a deep understanding of what it means to care for others.

Through hands-on instruction and meaningful community partnerships, Ms. Horn creates real-world learning experiences that prepare students for life beyond high school. Her high expectations and commitment to authentic practice ensure students are truly career-ready—and life-ready.

A powerful example of this impact is seen in two Cypress students who recently graduated from the Future Nurses of Avita program. Over nine months of dedication and growth, they mastered essential nursing skills while gaining invaluable real-world experience.

During their journey, they also gave back to the community through consistent service at Liberty Nursing Home, where they supported residents while building meaningful relationships. These experiences helped them understand that healthcare is about more than procedures—it’s about compassion, dignity, and human connection.

Their hard work continues to open doors. This summer, both students will continue gaining hands-on experience by working at Avita, further building on the strong foundation they’ve developed.

Ms. Horn’s leadership is at the heart of this success. She ensures her students leave Cypress not only prepared for their future careers, but equipped with the confidence and compassion to make a real difference in the lives of others.

What makes this kind of impact possible? Dedicated educators like Mr. Wuicik and Mrs. Gregory, who consistently go beyond the classroom to design authentic learning experiences.
