Pickwick Fire and Rescue

Pickwick Fire and Rescue Pickwick Fire and Rescue provides Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Response for the residents of Hwy 61 along the scenic Mississippi River.

Pickwick Fire and Rescue is located about 15 miles south of Winona, MN. We are a non-profit Volunteer Fire Department that provides fire and emergency medical services for the citizens of Richmond and Homer Townships in rural Winona County and U.S. We have Mutual Aid agreements with neighboring fire and EMS agencies In the county. Our Department has about 25 non-paid volunteer members that respond

out of two stations - Station #1 (Pickwick) and Station #2 (Homer). Our members include EMTs, Emergency Medical Responders and Firefighters. Our Response area is approximately 50 square miles. The current equipment includes 2 Engines, 2 Rescue Squads, Tanker, Fast Attack Brush Rig, Rescue Boat, ATV, Snowmobile, and Rescue Sled. In addition to Fire and EMS calls, Engine 1 and Squad 2 are equipped with the “Jaws of Life” and other specialized rescue equipment to facilitate extrications. In 2011, Pickwick Fire and Rescue sponsored our first Fire Explorer program - Pickwick Fire Explorer Post 343. As of January 2021, a new in-house Junior Firefighter program has replaced our successful Explorer program. Any young men or women between the ages of 14 and 20 are welcome to join our Junior Firefighter program. Our Command Staff is:

Who are we?

Pickwick Fire and Rescue is headquartered located about 15 miles south of Winona Minnesota in the community of Pickwick. We are a full-time on-call volunteer Fire and Rescue organization that provides fire and emergency medical services for the citizens of Richmond and Homer Townships in rural Winona County, as well as U.S. Hwy 61 along the scenic Mississippi River.

Our Department has about 25 non-paid volunteer members that respond out of two stations - Station #1 (Pickwick) and Station #2 (Homer). Our members include state-certified firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders, EMT's, and Fire Explorers.

Our response area encompasses approximately 50 square miles. We also provide mutual-aid assistance to our neighboring fire departments and communities.

Our current equipment includes 2 Engines, a Rescue Squad, a First Responder Squad, a Fast Attack Brush Rig, boat, ATV, and rescue sled. In addition to Fire and EMS calls, we respond to vehicle extrication's, remote area search and rescues, river rescue, railroad and hazardous materials emergencies.
