🎨 Art Show drop-off is officially open! Starting today, August 31, you can drop off your child's artwork for the 2026 Youth Art Show at the Piedmont Public Library.

Ages 5–18, any flat medium (no collages or framed pieces, please), sized 11"x14" or smaller. Remember: "Dreams on the Prairie" is the theme for ages 11 and under — 12 and up can submit anything.

⏰ Deadline to drop off: Wednesday, September 9 by 5pm at the Piedmont Public Library
🖼️ Show day: Saturday, September 12, 9am–3pm at First Baptist Church — part of Founder's Day
🏆 Prizes awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in every age group

🎨✨ Calling all young artists! ✨🎨

The Piedmont Library and Cultural Events Society (PLACES) is excited to announce the 2026 Youth Art Show, held annually during Piedmont Founders Day! This is your chance for young artists ages 5–18 to share their creativity and have their artwork displayed for the community to enjoy. 🖌️🌟

🎭 THEME: Dreams on the Prairie
For ages 11 and under. Ages 12–18 may create artwork on any theme!

🏆 Age Groups:
⭐ 5–6
⭐ 7–9
⭐ 10–11
⭐ 12–14
⭐ 15–18

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group!

📅 Youth Art Show: Saturday, September 12
⏰ 9 AM–3 PM
📍 Founder's Day inside First Baptist Church of Piedmont

📣 Introducing Our Brand-New Fidget Toy Library! 🎉🧩

We're excited to announce a new resource debuting August 8th at the Piedmont Public Library, our Fidget Toy Library! Fun Fact: 💙 This Fidget Kit Library was imagined, created, and donated by Teen Leadership Council member, Sienna! She envisioned a place where people of all ages could borrow fidgets to support focus, self-regulation, and well-being. Then she turned that vision into a reality for our community. We're so proud of her creativity, compassion, and leadership! 🌟

Fidget toys aren't just fun. They're tools designed to help improve focus, manage stress, reduce anxiety, and support self-regulation. Whether you're studying, reading, attending a program, or simply need something to keep your hands busy, there's a fidget that's right for you.

Here's how it works:

📣 Free Booster Seat Distribution Event! 🚗💙

Is your child ready to move into a booster seat? Join us at the Piedmont Public Library on Saturday, August 8, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM for a FREE Booster Seat Distribution Event in partnership with the Canadian County Health Department.

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on-site to:
✅ Help determine if your child is ready for a booster seat
✅ Teach caregivers how to properly install and use a booster seat
✅ Distribute free booster seats while supplies last

Important Information:
🔹 Child must be present to receive a booster seat.
🔹 Booster seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Help keep your child safe on every ride! We hope to see you there! 🚙💙

📚🍎 Let's Shower Our Teachers with Supplies! 🍎📚

Help us kick off the school year by supporting the amazing teachers in our community! We're collecting school supplies to help stock classrooms for the year ahead. We'll gladly accept any new school supply donation, but we've also included a list of high demand items.

Donation Deadline:
Saturday, August 8 by 12:00 PM at the library.
