The City of Pierce is asking its citizens to please conserve
water as best they can. This is due to the extreme drought
conditions that are being seen throughout the state of Idaho, as
well as the water main repairs that have had to be done over the
last several months that have put a strain on our water supply.

What are we asking you to do?

We are asking you to, as in previous years this has
occurred, to refrain from watering your lawn every day. If you
our citizens could water every other day from 7pm to 10pm and
use those times to wash any vehicle you wish to wash doing so
on the lawn. Addresses with Odd numbers to water on Mon,
Wed, and Fri. Even number Addresses to water on Tues, Thurs,
Sat. with no watering or washing of vehicles on Sundays.
These things should help build up our water table. Thank
you for your help at this time. If we all work together, we should
be able to bring our water table back to normal levels. Our City
maintenance crew and Council will be keeping a close eye on the
situation and will keep you informed as this evolves.

WORK ON HWY 11 TO BEGIN JULY 12th

Work will begin Monday, July 12th, to replace culverts and resurface approximately seven miles of Idaho Highway 11 between Grangemont Road and Headquarters. The highway will be reduced to one lane, with the contractor Knife River scheduled to work weekdays and possibly weekends. Construction is expected to last through early September.

The highway remains reduced to one lane at the slide just outside of Headquarters. The department is analyzing the data from recent soil borings and monitoring devices to determine the severity of the slide and to identify options for the best long-term repair. ITD will then work with the contractor to see if slide repairs may be incorporated into the current project. Another update will be sent once timing of the slide repairs has been determined.

For any questions on the paving project, please call Howard Cooley at (208) 799-4245.

For any questions on the slide repairs project, please call Bob Schumacher at (208) 799-4201.

Thank you for help spreading the word!
