⚠️ Route 9W Closure in Piermont/Grandview this Saturday ⚠️

The New York State Department of Transportation announces the closure of US Route 9W in the Town of Orangetown between Hickey St and Shadyside Ave on Saturday, December 13th from 7 AM - 12 Noon to perform needed drainage work.

A detour route and message boards have been posted to alert motorists of the closure. Questions can be directed to the NYSDOT at 845-634-4661.

As we head into the holiday, the Piermont Police Department will be participating in STOP-DWI High Visibility Enforcement. This initiative runs throughout the holiday period and focuses on keeping our roads safe for everyone traveling to see family and friends.

We remind drivers to please:

• Call a ride if you’ve been drinking
• Never let friends drive impaired
• Drive safely and responsibly

🚧 Route 9W Closure in Orangetown

The New York State Department of Transportation announces that on Saturday, November 8th from 7 AM - 12 Noon, US Route 9W from Shadyside Ave to Hickey St in the Town of Orangetown will be closed for tree removal and road maintenance work.

Signs alerting motorists of the closure and a detour route will be in place.

Overnight Parking Update

Due to the potential for flooding, overnight parking restrictions in the Village have been temporarily lifted for tonight. Residents are reminded to move their vehicles to higher ground or a safe location.

Tonight's high tide around 7 PM is forecast from 3.8 to 4.3 foot NAVD88.

Flooding conditions are expected in low-lying areas this evening. Above 4 foot NAVD88 we typically see flooding in Lot D, the River lot, on Paradise ave, Ohio, Ladik, and Bridge streets. Overnight parking restrictions have been lifted tonight. If you park in these areas, please move your car to higher ground.

The Piermont Police Department will be participating in the national Click It or Ticket campaign, running from May 19 to June 1.

This enforcement effort is about saving lives. Officers will be increasing patrols to ensure drivers and passengers are wearing their seat belts — because seat belts save lives.

Day or night, front seat or back, it’s the law.

A message from the New York State Department of Transportation

NYSDOT Maintenance crews will be closing RTE. 9W between Hickey St in Piermont to Shadyside Ave in South Nyack on Sat. 5/10/25 between 7AM-12 Noon to do pavement repairs and other road maintenance work. RTE. 9W detours have been posted and PVMS in the area activated. Local residents / deliveries and Emergency vehicles will be provided access to the area.

DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day - This Saturday!

The Piermont Police Department is proud to participate in the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday October 26, 2024 from 10 am to 2 pm at 478 Piermont Ave.

💊 Why Participate? Unused or expired prescription medications can be a risk to public health and safety. Proper disposal helps prevent drug misuse and keeps dangerous substances out of our water supply.

🚫 What Can Be Disposed? We’ll accept prescription tablets, capsules, and other solid forms of medication – no questions asked!

We would like to inform residents that overnight parking restrictions have been temporarily suspended for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights due to potential flooding risks associated with high tide. Residents are encouraged to monitor local flooding conditions around noon on these days. It is advisable for residents to relocate their vehicles to a safe location during this period.
