Jessica LaMie, Former Hughes County State’s Attorney I am looking forward to serving Hughes County as the State's Attorney. I came to the Office of the Hughes County State's Attorney in 2018.

I am here to serve this wonderful community so please do not hesitate to contact me with any thoughts, concerns, or questions. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion where I majored in Criminal Justice. I went on to receive my law degree from Hamline University School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I started my legal career at the South Dakota Legislative

Research Council, serving in several different capacities in that organization. I served as the Chief Deputy under Roxanne Hammond. I was appointed to fill the vacancy left by Hammond in November of 2020.
