Pierre-Fort Pierre Exchange Club The Exchange Club meets weekly on Mondays at noon at the Ramkota (There is a new and different speaker every week!).

The National Exchange Club – a service organization with 700 clubs and approximately 22,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico – will celebrate its 100th anniversary in March 2011. Founded in 1911 in Detroit by businessmen who wanted to “exchange” ideas, t

he Exchange Club moved its headquarters to Toledo in 1917. For nearly 100 years, its volunteer efforts have supported the needs of the country and of local communities, making it the country’s oldest American service organization operating exclusively in this country.

Members, past members, and guests, please join the Exchange Club of Pierre-Fort Pierre for a social to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The social will start at 6:00 PM on Monday, February 20th in the basement below the Grand Opera House Theatre (109 S. Pierre Street -entrance is on the South side of building in the alley). Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served. We look forward to celebrating 50 years of making our community a better place to live, work, and play. Please join us.

This is a reminder that we will be meeting tomorrow evening (November 2nd) at 5:30 p.m. in Jason Glodt’s basement below the Grand Opera House Theatre. Abbie Arneson, with LifeServe Blood Center O+ will be our guest speaker. Joe Meligan, from the Fort Pierre Fire Dept and EMS may accompany her. Refreshments and snacks will be served. Spouses and guests are welcome. You are encouraged to bring them.

We will discuss a few business items before Abbie’s presentation. Some items on the agenda will be a financial report, upcoming flag projects, and the Discovery Center Best for Last Event. We look forward to seeing many of you and your guests at the meeting tomorrow.

The Exchange Club will be posting flags across the bridge this Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

This evening, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., we will be hosting a fundraiser at Pizza Ranch - we'd thank you in advance for your support by joining us (dine-in) or simply ordering a pizza (take-out)!
