This weekend the Pierre Fire Department brought the Mobile Live Fire Training Unit to town and hosted a live burn training for our members and members of neighboring departments.

Last night our Dive Squad worked through a “tangled diver” scenario — one of the most challenging situations a diver can face. Entanglement in rope, wire, cabling or debris can happen fast and in zero visibility, so every movement and decision matters.

We focused on staying calm under pressure, managing air, and working together to safely free a trapped diver. These drills build the skills and confidence we rely on when real emergencies happen.

As always, a big thanks to the Oahe Family YMCA for hosting our pool-based trainings!
