On July 17, the new access on Clear Lake in Hamlin County was opened for use. This project is a major improvement for anglers that frequent the very popular fishery on Clear Lake near Thomas, SD. This project was made possible by a great team effort once again, starting with a willing landowner to provide an access agreement lease with GFP.

This new access features a small plank boat ramp with roll-in dock, ample parking, great water depth for easy loading and launching, and paved highway access. We appreciate the cooperation from everyone that it takes to accomplish a project like this: private lands, conservation officers, habitat and access crews, and most importantly, anglers’ contributions with their Habitat Stamp funding.
