South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley: I appointed Dan Satterlee as DCI Director in 2023. He has done an outstanding job leading DCI and has reinforced its image as a top law enforcement agency. It has been an honor to work with him. I look forward to working with him again when he is sworn in as South Dakota's new U.S. Marshal in the next few weeks.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley: A Centerville man has been sentenced to three consecutive sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole for a 2024 triple homicide. This sentence provides justice for the families of the three victims.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley: We have released the final ballot explanation for a proposed Constitutional Amendment that requires voters to be U.S. citizens to be eligible to vote. The proposed amendment, approved by the 2025 State Legislature, will be on this year's general election ballot in November.

South Dakota Attorney Geneal Marty Jackley: Members of the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigaton and Basic Law Enforcement Training Class No. 201 took part Wednesday in the SD Special Olympics Torch Run from the Mickelson Building to the State Capitol. It is an honor to be part of such a worthy endeavor!

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley: We had a fun day Tuesday at an all-staff meeting. We presented employee awards and longevity pins. We also introduced our office interns for the summer. Most importantly, I had a chance to thank the staff for the great work they do for South Dakota. It is an honor to serve with them.

Alexis is another example of the hard-working dedicated staff who serve the state as members of the AG's Office. Great job!

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley: I have advocated for open government throughout my career. I will continue to propose efforts that make government more transparent for citizens and the media.

Significant changes to make the law tougher will need to risk angering the lobbyists who look out for the interests of cities, counties and school districts.
