**A Special Delivery**
On June 16, Capt. Hood, Capt. Medley, Capt. Golden, Fire Medic Bradley, and Fire Medic Goodman responded to a call for a female in labor. Upon arrival, the crew quickly recognized that the mother was in the late stages of labor and immediately began working to get her to the hospital as quickly and safely as possible.
While en route to the hospital, it became clear that the baby was not going to wait. The delivery process had begun, so the crew quickly pulled over and assisted with the delivery, welcoming a new member of the community into the world.
On Saturday, we were honored to welcome Ms. Moxey and her newborn back to the station for a special visit. She brought her other children along, and we had a great time showing them our trucks and giving them a behind-the-scenes look at the fire station. We were also pleased to present the family with a few fire department mementos.
Ms. Moxey was presented with a certificate signed by the members of the crew who responded to the call. In honor of the special delivery, a small stork sticker was also placed on Rescue 1.
We are proud to report that both mother and baby are doing well. It was a privilege for our crew to be there during such an important moment, and it was even more special to welcome them back to the station and see them doing well.
