It’s National Fire Prevention Week, and we are full speed ahead!

This year’s theme focuses on the safe use of batteries and battery chargers. These devices can pose a serious fire risk when they are damaged, improperly used, or left charging in unsafe conditions. We have responded to several fires involving golf carts charging inside garages, which is an important reminder to always follow manufacturer recommendations and use proper charging practices.

Today, our crews are at Pike Road Elementary School teaching students important fire safety lessons, including the importance of working smoke alarms and what to do if they are ever faced with a fire in their home.

Fire prevention starts with education, and we are proud to help prepare the next generation to stay safe!
