Jewish American Heritage Month
Jewish identity is not something we think about only once a year. It lives in our homes, in our families, in the way we raise our children, and in the connection we carry to our history and to the State of Israel.
Over the past few years, and even in recent days within our own community, many of us have felt that identity more deeply. We have seen moments that were difficult, conversations that were uncomfortable, and situations that challenged us in ways we did not expect. For some, it has brought frustration. For others, sadness. For many, it has strengthened a quiet but powerful sense of resolve.
In moments when clarity matters most, we believe Jewish identity and connection to Israel should never be minimized or set aside.
At the Baltimore Zionist District, this is why we do what we do. Our work is rooted in bringing people together, creating space for learning, and building meaningful connections to Israel and to one another. We believe that Jewish identity is not something to be explained away or set aside. It is something to be understood, embraced, and lived with pride.
Jewish American Heritage Month is a moment to reflect, but also to reaffirm. To remind ourselves, and each other, that we are part of something enduring. That our connection to Israel is not separate from our identity, but a central part of it. And that even in challenging times, we continue to show up for our community and for one another.
We are proud of the work being done every day to strengthen that connection, to support our community, and to ensure that the next generation grows up with knowledge, confidence, and pride in who they are.
We stand together, with clarity, with strength, and with a deep sense of responsibility to our people and our future.
Am Yisrael Chai 🇮🇱
