A huge thank you to Innovative Solutions for their incredible support of the Piketon Seal Township Fire Department!

When a critical part on Ladder 4 failed, we learned that a replacement was no longer available. That left our ladder truck out of service until a solution could be found.

The team at Innovative Solutions stepped up without hesitation. They custom-machined a brand-new replacement part, repaired the assembly, and had Ladder 4 back in service in just one day. To top it all off, they donated their time and craftsmanship, refusing to charge us for the work.

Their generosity, skill, and commitment to helping their community are a true example of what makes our local businesses so special. Because of their quick response, one of our most important pieces of emergency equipment is back where it belongs—ready to serve the citizens of Piketon and Seal Township.

We are always honored to serve our community, and helping prepare for the Pike County Fair is just one small way we can give back. Whether it’s responding to emergencies or rolling up our sleeves to get the swine barn cleaned, we’re always happy to lend a hand.

A huge thank you to the Pike County Fair Board for your kind words and for all the hard work that goes into making the fair a success each year. We also want to recognize the countless volunteers, exhibitors, and community members who spend countless hours behind the scenes getting everything ready. It truly takes a village.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the Piketon Seal Township Fire Department! 🎆

As we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy and spend time with family, friends, and neighbors, we want to wish everyone in our community a safe and happy Fourth of July!

If fireworks are part of your celebration, please use them legally, carefully, and responsibly. Follow all directions, keep a safe distance from people and property, have a water source nearby, and never allow children to handle fireworks unsupervised. A little preparation and good judgment can help prevent a celebration from becoming an emergency.

🍻 If you drink, don’t drive. Plan ahead, designate a sober driver, and make sure everyone gets home safely.

🤝 Look out for one another. Check on friends, family, neighbors, children, and pets throughout the evening.

Thank you to all of the agencies and individuals who assisted in responding to this disaster Thursday morning!

Many of these were volunteers who took several hours of their time away from family and work to help their community in the wake of this storm.

At approximately 4:45 am on 5/10/2026, Piketon Seal Township Fire Department was dispatched to the 12000 block of State Route 220 for a single vehicle rollover with injuries.

Once on scene, units found a single vehicle that veered off of the road and struck a tree. Units assisted Portsmouth Ambulance with patient stabilization and loading to be transferred to awaiting medical helicopters.

All units returned to service at 7:00 am.

We would like to thank Portsmouth Ambulance, Pike County Sheriffs Department, and Ohio State Highway Patrol for your service and dedication on scene!

🔥 It’s starting to heat up! 🔥

The hot rods are rolling in and the fish are frying! 🚗🐟

Come join us starting at 10:30 AM for our classic fried fish and signature firehouse pizza—served hot and fresh until 2 PM or sold out!

🚘 Don’t forget to check out the Car Show from 10 AM – 2 PM
🏆 30 trophies up for grabs, including Best of Show, Best Project Car, and Best Rat Rod

Bring the family, check out some awesome rides, and support your local fire department. It’s shaping up to be a great day in Piketon!

At approximately 7:02 pm on 4/21/2026, Piketon Seal Township Fire Department Wildland Fire Unit was dispatched to the 2500 block of Keiser Road to assist Waverly Fire Department with a large woodland fire. Rapid Response 407, Brush 408, Tanker 411, and UTV 4 responded.

Once on scene, units found heavy fire being pushed uphill by strong gusts of wind. Units were requested to utilize UTV 4 to attack the right flank to slow down the spread. Units utilized rakes, saws, and UTV 4’s water gun to begin attacking the line, which had reached a large thicket area.

Once in the thicket, the fire moved rapidly fueled by dead underbrush and gusts of wind. Units were forced to retreat due to deteriorating conditions. At this time, ODNR Forestry Division arrived with their Bulldozer.

The dozer was able to cut a fire line around the outside of the right flank to attempt to stop the spread. Once cut, units were stationed along the perimeter to ensure no embers jumped the line. All units returned to service at 9:31 pm.

Approximately 20 acres were burned. We would like to thank Waverly Fire Department and Ohio Division of Natural Resources Forestry Department for their dedication and service on scene!
