JAMR proceeds benefit the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) & other charitable causes. OUR STORY - is Jerry's Story
Some endings are new beginnings. In early 2015, shortly after their father Jerry’s passing, Troy and Tracy resolved to start an annual motorcycle ride to honor their late Dad. Jerry was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, a passion that he passed to both of his children. It wa
s decided that Jerry’s Annual Memorial Ride (JAMR) would be held in June of each year. Troy and Tracy realized that when it comes to motorcycle rides, that historically, memorial rides don’t have long term sustainability. So, forward thinking, they came to the conclusion that it would be prudent to also earmark the annual ride as a charity event. As a non-profit, the organization would operate with volunteers, with a mission to bring awareness to sarcoidosis, a rare auto-immune, inflammatory organ tissue disease, that led to Jerry’s passing in 2014. Tracy and Troy took the required steps to make initial 501(c)3 application with the IRS, including forming a volunteer, governing Board of Directors, writing and formally adopting JAMR bylaws, and forming a mission statement. We remain an organization of transparency. June JAMR proceeds benefit the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (our main proceeds recipient), and other Board selected, local charitable causes. The annual ride has continued to grow since its inception. Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, rider participants, and cash contributors, we awarded over $25,000 to the charities we support during our first 5 years. Our annual ride is held the 2nd SATURDAY of each JUNE. Ride details are posted here on our page, the weeks and days leading up to the event. Please join us to ride, or sign up as a volunteer or major sponsor. Our ride is a rain or shine event, with cars also welcome. Registration fees for rider participants contribute to the charitable fundraising arm of our organization. For more details about the orphan disease sarcoidosis, please visit www.stopsarcoidosis.org.
