We had a wonderful time learning about Wild Edibles today at Pikeville and Elkhorn City libraries! Participants explored the traditions of foraging and wildcrafting in Kentucky while discovering the many edible plants growing around us. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this fascinating program—and the tasty samples afterward!

June’s story at the Bob Amos Story Trail is “If I Had a Dinosaur” by Alex Barrow and Gabby Dawnay.

A little girl dreams of having her very own pet. But what kind of animal would make the best companion? A mouse is too small, a cat is too ordinary, and a fish is too . . . wet! As she plays with her toy dinosaur, inspiration strikes. What about a real, live dinosaur? She could ride it to school. It would need lots of food to eat, a swimming pool to drink from, and a dino flap so it could come and go!

This book will be posted all month long, but be sure to join us on June 9th at 6:00 for Unearth a Dinosaur at the Bob Amos Story Trail!

The Bob Amos Story Trail is located at Bob Amos Park just below the Overlook Events Center. Along the quarter mile paved trail are posts that contain pages of a story book that change regularly, so families can read a story as they walk the trail. Look for our sign at the head of the trail!

Celebrate Father’s Day at the library with a fun, hands-on building experience for the whole family!

Join us for Building Together: A LEGO Father’s Day Event, where kids and their dads, grandfathers, and caregivers can team up to design, create, and explore through imaginative LEGO challenges. Families will work side-by-side to complete simple building activities. This relaxed, drop-in style program encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and quality time together in a welcoming environment. Each registered family will build a minifigure to keep, representing their Father's Day grown-up!

Registration is required to ensure enough minifigures. Minifigs are one per family; please register only one family member, regardless of how many in attendance. Register with a library card at the following links:
