Last night, Daniel Boone stepped out of the history books and into the library as part of our America 250 programming. Through this engaging Chautauqua performance, we got to hear Boone’s stories of adventure, exploration, frontier life, and the challenges of a rapidly changing Kentucky.

New acquisition: a vintage milk glass "Gone with the Wind" parlor lamp featuring a hand-painted pink rose floral motif and embossed puffy design details.

Style: Victorian-revival banquet or hurricane parlor lamp (GWTW style).

Materials: White embossed milk glass globes with a metal filigree connector ring and ornate cast base.

Design: Hand-painted pink and peach roses accented with scrolling scrollwork and raised dimensional texturing.
