This week, we celebrate the voices behind the scenes of public safety—our 911 Dispatchers.

Often overlooked, they are the FIRST first responders. Before lights and sirens ever arrive, it’s their voice that answers the call, gathers critical information, and sets everything in motion. They are thrust into every situation blind, making sense of chaos in real time. They are a calming and reassuring presence on someone’s worst day.

They are the information gatherers and coordinators for Police. They are the first line of evacuation and containment for Fire. They are the ones providing life-saving instructions and critical updates to EMS. These are the unsung heroes—the backbone of Police, Fire, and EMS—always guiding, supporting, and protecting from behind a console, ready to act at a moment’s notice.

The hours are long. It’s often call after call, with no time to breathe. Yet you remain dedicated to keeping both our community and our responders safe. Your ability to stay focused, composed, and compassionate under pressure is nothing short of extraordinary.

To those who are always heard and seldom seen, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment. To our hometown hero’s and chaos babysitters Shelby, Kae, Katie and Walter we appreciate you all for going above and beyond today and every day. 💛📞
