At 21:14, we were paged to a report of a motorcycle accident, with injuries, on CR1 near Pillager Lake. Upon arrival, our responders found a single rider had lost control after hitting a deer at a high rate of speed.

Traffic was temporarily stopped while North Ambulance, our responders & two officers from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office helped the victim.

The rider was loaded & transported via ambulance to a landing zone nearby where Life Link III awaited. The rider was airlifted to St Cloud hospital.

❗️There may be Smoke in the Area❗️
We have been asked to make the community aware that The Nature Conservancy is looking at a potential window to conduct a prescribed burn. The dates/timeframe would be May 28-30th at Sylvan Park on the South Side of Sylvan Lake (Pillager, MN).

The firing operation would take place late morning one of those days and be completed by mid- to late afternoon that same day.

**Any questions or concerns can be directed to The Nature Conservancy** Pillager Fire is not involved in this RX Burn**

5/12- structure fire @ 21:00**🚒
5/13- grass fire @ 12:55 ***🔥

*🥎 2 HS softball players collided hard on the field requiring 2 ambulances. Both girls were injured.

*🚙Vehicle was on WB 210 in front of Hengel’s. We had to shut down the highway for a brief moment to position trucks, get traffic control in place due to smoke & keep our FF’s safe(r).

**🚒Fully involved structure at Camp Jim. Mutual aid was requested from Brainerd Fire for water & man power. We used approximately 15,000 gallons of water. Nobody was injured & the structure was a total loss. We had 20 Firefighters from PFD (not sure how many BFD were there). PFD was on scene until 1:30am….then clean up commenced. All FF’s left the hall by 3am. 🥱

***🔥 Grass fire caused by a tree on a power line. This caused 2 different fires approximately 1/4 mile apart & was likely the cause of a huge power outage. DNR responded with us & we were able to squash both fires relatively quickly.

To all the women who can run a shift, run on three hours of sleep, and still somehow know where the missing shoe, charger, snack, and homework folder are.

To the women carrying responsibility at work and at home with grit, love, and a level of mental multitasking that honestly deserves federal recognition.

To YOU… Happy Mother’s Day. Hope you feel celebrated today. 💐

❤️‍🔥And a very special THANK YOU to all the Mommas of Pillager Area Fire & Rescue who “run the scene at home while we are on scene”. We love you all!!
