Many parents of young children find it hard to make time to relax or go out and meet other families, leaving a deep need for mental and social fulfillment. Adults can enjoy the benefits of a playground just as much as kids as they relax outdoors and build fulfilling adult friendships with other parents and caregivers.

Help Us Build a NEW Playground!!!

Roll up your sleeves, Pilot Mountain! It’s time to build a playground we can be proud of! Currently, the only public playground inside the town of Pilot Mountain is located on the grounds of Armfield Civic Center, and it has fallen into a serious state of disrepair. ACC operates on membership dues and for decades its members have shouldered the burden of purchasing, maintaining, and insuring the playground THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY calls home. It’s time for that to change.

A committee of governmental representatives, Civic club members and concerned citizens has formed to steer a community-based effort to build a better playground. We’ll start with fundraising, and that’s where we need your help to share this page (and our dream) with as many people as possible! Pledges are already being made by businesses, individuals and families committed to providing a safe place for our community’s children to play. No matter if the donation is $10,000 or $10...EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!!! You can rest assured that any donation will be 100% tax deductible, and every penny will be earmarked for the playground fund!

A bank account has been opened at Surrey Bank & Trust (Location in Pilot near Food Lion) to hold the money for the project. Anyone may drop off funds beginning on Friday, November 30, 2018. Checks may also be mailed to ACC directly. All checks should be made payable to Armfield Civic Center – Playground Fund.
