Pima Unified School District is a public school district offering a course of study beginning with Kindergarten and culminating in an Arizona High School Diploma. Through our partnership with Eastern Arizona College and the local GIFT consortium we also offer students the opportunity to complete college credit courses while in high school. Like more than 94 other districts in Arizona, Pima Unified
participates in the Beyond Textbooks program developed by Vail school district. This program provides an integrated approach to teaching the Arizona state standards and the nascent Common Core standards. Also, it means that students entering or exiting the district from other Beyond Textbooks schools have an easier time transitioning into the new program. Lastly, Pima is a 4-Day-a-week school. Students attend school Monday - Thursday. Fridays are reserved for activities, athletics and professional learning opportunities for our staff. This program is being implemented during the 2012-2013 school year.
