The First amendment and the U.S. Constitution protect the rights of door-to-door solicitors and preclude the ability of a community to ban or significantly limit door-to-door sales.

The Pinckneyville Police Department would like to remind citizens, if you choose not to have solicitors at your property you can post a sign on your door stating, No Soliciting.

The Pinckneyville Police Department does have No Solicitors Invited cards. The cards are available and can be picked up at the Pinckneyville Police Department.

If you have received a call from our 618-357-9295 phone number there is no need to answer it and you do not need to call it back. The above phone number has been showing up on some caller ID’s. The Pinckneyville Police Department DOES NOT use that phone number to make outgoing calls. If you need to contact the Pinckneyville Police Department please call 618-357-8231, for non-emergency. If you have an emergency you will need to call 911.

Pinckneyville Police Department is asking residents to be sure to lock vehicle doors after exiting their vehicles.
If there is anything valuable you have to keep in your vehicle make sure to keep it out of sight. If you don’t have to have it in there, please take it out. For examples, cell phones, wallets, fi****ms, sunglasses, computers, tools, or anything else of value.
Also take the time to be mindful of your residence and keep all exterior doors and windows locked, even if you are home.
