PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL DAY: Jefferson County, Arkansas - May 15, 2026 - Today, during Peace Officers Memorial Day and throughout Police Week, we pause to honor and remember the brave men of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

Criminal Investigator Kevin L. Brosch, Deputy Sheriff Listash Browder, Deputy Sheriff Fortune Crowder, and Juvenile Detention Officer Leonard Wall each answered the call of duty with courage, honor, and unwavering commitment to protecting our community. Their sacrifice serves as a solemn reminder that the badge is more than a symbol, it is a promise to stand between danger and the people we are sworn to serve.

As Sheriff of Jefferson County, I ask our citizens to join us in remembering these fallen heroes and keeping their families in prayer. Their legacy of service and sacrifice will forever remain a part of the proud history of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

We will never forget their courage. We will never forget their sacrifice.

🎄✨ The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was proud to join more than 70 vendors at this year’s “Christmas in May” Business Expo presented by the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce!

Our beautifully decorated holiday-themed booth, designed by JCSO’s very own Deputy Madison Hamilton and Sheriff Administrative Secretary Christy Badgley, allowed us the opportunity to connect with citizens, business leaders, and community partners while sharing information about the services and programs offered by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Thank you to the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce for hosting another outstanding event that continues to strengthen relationships within our business community and throughout Jefferson County.

💛🖤 DREAM BIG. SERVE BIGGER. 🖤💛

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office had the absolute honor of surprising a very special young man ahead of his Head Start graduation. After learning from his mother that Dalton dreams of becoming a law enforcement officer one day, Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr., along with Deputy Madison Hamilton and Deputy Jeremy Wilkins, paid him a special visit at his home.

During the visit, Dalton proudly raised his right hand and took the oath of office to become Jefferson County’s YOUNGEST Junior Deputy! 👮‍♂️⭐

From sitting inside a patrol vehicle, receiving official Junior Deputy gear, and spending time with deputies who encouraged his dreams, Dalton reminded all of us why community matters and why investing in our youth is so important.

At the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, we believe today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. By taking time to inspire, encourage, and uplift young people like Dalton, we help build stronger communities and brighter futures.
