Investing in literacy is an investment in our young people, our workforce, and the future of Pine Bluff. When children become stronger readers, we are helping give them the foundation they need to succeed in school, pursue greater opportunities, and one day contribute to a stronger community.

We are proud to partner with the Pine Bluff / Jefferson County Library System and other community partners as we prepare to launch this important initiative on Wednesday, September 23 at 3:00 PM at the Pine Bluff Main Library!

Preparing Pine Bluff for the future means preparing our people for the opportunities ahead!

I was proud to join educators, employers, students, workforce professionals, and community leaders at Southeast Arkansas College’s Workforce Summit.

One thing was clear: workforce development takes all of us. From exposing our young people to career opportunities earlier to expanding internships, apprenticeships, and workforce training, we must create stronger pathways from the classroom to meaningful careers right here at home.

When education, industry, and community work together, Pine Bluff wins.

Thank you to President Jackson and SEARK College for bringing us to the table and creating space for these important conversations and partnerships that will help create greater opportunities for Pine Bluff families.

Join us for our annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on TODAY, at 10:00 AM at the Pine Bluff City Hall, located at 200 East 8th Avenue, Pine Bluff, AR.

Each year, we solemnly honor the life and service of Petty Officer Nehamon Lyons IV, a proud Pine Bluff native and 1989 graduate of Dollarway High School, who tragically lost his life on September 11, 2001, while serving at the Pentagon.

We are honored to welcome Colonel Matthew Mason, Commander of the Pine Bluff Arsenal, as our guest speaker.

We invite the community to join us as we remember, reflect, and honor the sacrifices made on that solemn day.
