Hello everyone,

Flora Cook-Bishop, Jefferson County Circuit Clerk, our primary mission is to ensure the integrity, transparency, friendly and efficient assistance to all citizens.

The duties of our office revolve around filing, docketing, attending court, issuing of notices, records management, and reporting to the Administrative Office of the courts.

We file and process all the court documents for Civil, Domestic Relations, and Criminal & Juvenile cases. Then we maintain those records and all appeals in our office. We also prepare transcripts to be sent to the appellate court.

It is our responsibility to prepare a list of prospective jurors(we mail out summons quarterly), docket cases of the respective courts, issue summons, subpoenas, writs and warrants related to each case, attend court and swear in jurors.

We are also responsible for recording all deeds, mortgages, maps & plats, surveys, power of attorneys, liens on real property, soldiers discharges, leases, contracts, performance bonds, notary bonds just to name a few.

We work directly with the Prosecutors Office, Sheriff Office and (6) Circuit Judges.
