The Laramie County School District #2 Board of Trustees will meet on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM at the School District Office for the purpose of an Executive Session pursuant to W.S. 16-4-405(a): (ii) and (x), and for the board to consider personnel and the staff benefits for the 26-27 School Year. Action will be taken as part of the meeting.

Laramie 2 received a threat against Burns Jr/Sr High School. Law enforcement is on site today conducting a sweep through all of our buildings. No evidence has been found to support the threat.
We believe the threat to be a spoof intended to disrupt school operations; however, the situation is still being taken seriously. Precautions are in place to ensure the safety of students and staff. Schools will remain in normal operations. Thank you to our law enforcement partners for their swift and thorough support.

A Special Session of the Board of Trustees will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, starting at 6 pm at the District Office. The purpose of the meeting will include recommendations to approve the purchase of resource materials and personnel. The board will also hold an executive session pursuant to W.S. 16-4-405(a)(ii).

The Laramie County School District #2 Board of Trustees will have a Special Session on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, starting at 5:30 at the Central Office boardroom. The purpose of this meeting will be to host the local legislative delegation for a Meet and Greet conversation. No action will be taken at this meeting.

The strong winds have triggered the fire alarms at Carpenter Elementary School. The fire department has cleared the building and all students & staff are safely inside. School will be dismissed at the normal time. The phones at CES are also down. Any calls for the building can be directed to the District office.

The LCSD #2 Board of Trustees will be selecting a new school board member for appointment, to serve until the next election in 2026.

Board Trustees are elected community members who volunteer their time for the benefit of our school district and the students who attend our schools. In partnership with parents and community, they will provide a safe environment where students' essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes will ensure success in their changing world.

Emergency services have been called to Burns High School. All students are safe in their classrooms. We are requesting that no one comes to the building at this time and we will notify again when the campus is re-opened.
