There are moments in EMS that stay with you long after the call is over — and then there are moments when you get to see how the story continued.
Having a patient’s family stop by the station to tell us their loved one is healing and doing well is one of those moments. And when they arrive carrying some wonderful treats for our crews, it makes an already special visit even more meaningful.
We are there for our community during some of life’s most difficult, frightening, and uncertain moments. Often, once we leave the hospital, we never get to know what happens next. So hearing that someone we cared for is recovering and doing well means more to our crews than people may realize.
We absolutely appreciate being recognized for the work our crews do, but gestures like this are about something even more personal — knowing we made a difference for someone when they needed us.
To the family who stopped by, thank you. Thank you for the treats, the kindness, the update, and for taking the time to come back and share some love with our crews.
We are incredibly grateful for the trust, love, and respect our community continues to show us. It is a privilege to care for our neighbors, and we are truly blessed to serve this community.
Sometimes we take care of our community, and sometimes our community takes care of us. Today was one of those days.
