Chief Executive Melanie Benjamin delivers the State of the Band address in Mille Lacs on January 10th, 2017. The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe continues to be great partners to Pine County!

Ted Lewis from the University of Minnesota's Center for Restorative Justice & Peacemaking delivers Victim-Offender Conferencing training on April 22nd, 2016! Twenty-three people were trained in the curriculum, including court, school, and Mille Lac's Band staff, as well as Pine County citizens.

The Pine County Probation Department, the County Attorney's office, & Health & Human Services leadership continues to meet with Mille Lac's Band Family Services leadership to work on issues of joint interest regarding our native children. This standing meeting has met monthly since May, 2015! Pine County hopes to add a Cultural Community Coach real soon!

The C-5 Program was explained recently to members of the Pine County Probation Advisory Committee. This committee includes citizens from Pine County.

Pine County Probation Director Terry Fawcett & County Attorney Reese Frederickson recently attended a forum with Congressman Nolan, and were able to argue for adequate probation funding, as well as funding for programs such as the Pine County C-5 Restorative Justice program.
