NOTICE: FACILITY CLOSURE – Saturday, August 15th, 2026

Due to staffing shortages, the Willow River Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility will be closed on Saturday. The Willow River Transfer Station will remain open.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Please plan accordingly and share this notice with others who may be planning to visit either facility.

Just a reminder about the Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Pine City (405 Airport Rd) being CLOSED, Saturday, July 5th. All other Pine County recycling/transfer stations will be open, as usual.

For those that are wondering, even though most governmental facilities are closed in observance of Juneteenth this Thursday, the Pine County Transfer Stations and Sandstone Recycling Center WILL be open, regular hours.

FREE COMPOSTED BLACK DIRT AVAILABLE AT THE SOUTH PINE TRANSFER STATION! You load it yourself with a shovel (bring your own) anytime we are open or we will load TRAILERS with our skidloader on Tuesday, May 20th and Tuesday, May 27th from 10AM-4PM. Note: we will NOT load into the back of pickups.

We are very sorry to say that the South Pine Transfer Station will CLOSED, THURSDAY, APRIL 24th due to a lack of staffing. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We will re-open on Saturday as usual.
