Today, 24 FTE Freezers competed in our building chess tournament in grades 3-5. Our top 6 players are moving on to compete at the High School later in February. Way to go, Freezers!

We are so grateful to our Winter Ambassadors for their dedication and commitment! They have been busy sharing our morning announcements, planning STAR reteaching stations, and giving their time to support FTE. Their leadership makes a difference in our school community! 🐧🌟

Prior to break, December’s Character Strong focus at FTE was Empathy. These students earned empathy STAR tickets and were the lucky winners of the Empathy STAR ticket drawing. As a special reward, they had the opportunity to spend time creating a beautiful poster to decorate our Holiday Sing with Mrs. Treweek!

In January, FTE will be learning about perseverance. Students will earn purple STAR tickets when they demonstrate perseverance and will also have an opportunity at the end of the month to earn a special reward if their ticket is selected from the Perseverance Bin.

Mrs. Tranell’s second grade authors visited Mrs. Dreibelbis’ first grade classroom to share their published narrative stories. First graders practiced active listening and gave specific feedback, helping their second grade peers continue to grow as writers! 📝

Congratulations, FTE! As a whole school, we filled up the STAR Ticket Bucket and earned our second whole-school reward! 🎉 To celebrate our STAR behaviors, students will enjoy a movie with their class on Tuesday. On Thursday, the 4th and 5th grade classes enjoyed a special presentation from middle-grade author C.M. Cornwell. Ms. Cornwell discussed the power of perseverance when pursuing a dream, along with the writing process and her debut, middle-grade fantasy novel, "The Memory Spinner." Ferguson is so grateful for such a wonderful and engaging experience!

It was a delightfully beautiful Fall Festival day at FTE! The hallways and sidewalks were full of fun costumes, laughter, and joy filled waves.

We hope our students enjoy the next two days off as we welcome families and caregivers into our school for conferences.

Welcome back Ferguson Freezers! The rain held off and we had a beautiful evening of smiles, meet the teacher, sharing summer memories, conversation on the playground and delicious ice cream. Thank you for taking the time to visit tonight. We are so excited to kick-start a new school year!

Come Meet our Ferguson Swifts!
When: Wednesday, July 16 (rain date July 17)
Time: 8:15 pm – 9:15 pm
What: Watch the flock of approximately 100-200 chimney swifts fly to their Ferguson home to roost for the night!
The State College Bird Club and FTE would like to invite our Ferguson families to an evening of Sweets and Swifts to meet the feathered friends that roost in our school chimney. Chimney swifts are an amazing migratory bird that return to our area during the summer months to nest and there is a flock of swifts that make our school chimney their summer home! Every evening you can see the birds circling above Ferguson before they dive into the chimney for the night.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and a favorite sweet dish to share and join our chimney swift watch party! Can you help count how many swifts live at Ferguson?!
