Attention Pine Grove and other St Helena residents: The entire parish of St Helena has recently been placed under a burn ban due to the dry and hot weather conditions. Please, no outside burning of anything as even a small vegetation fire can spread rapidly and become out of control very easily. If you have any questions, please contact myself, Chief Kenneth Smith, and I can assist you with getting your questions answered.

Help us congratulate our magnificent leader and A #1 Chief Kenneth Smith Jr a happy 18th anniversary as Fire Chief of the St Helena Volunteer Fire District 2. Chief Smith has been an active member of D2 for 34 years, as well as an EMR for 30 years. He has followed in his dad’s footsteps, as the late Chief Kenneth ‘Buddy’ Smith Sr served as a previous chief of our department. Thank you Chief Smith for everything you do for the department and our community, as well as always having an open mind and kind heart for everyone you meet. There isn’t anyone more deserving of thanks, praise, and honor than you. You help keep all of us on the straight and narrow and you always have a listening ear for anyone in need. You have so much knowledge and almost always have an explanation and a large amount of information to teach anyone something new at any given moment. So thank you for everything you do and of course the small things that go unnoticed but are necessary to keep the department running. We love you and hope you enjoy this monumental and special day!!!
