* STORM INFORMATION: - About 45 miles south-southwest of Alexandria LA or about 55 miles northwest of Lafayette LA - 30.7N 92.7W - Storm Intensity 60 mph - Movement North-northwest or 335 degrees at 8 mph SITUATION OVERVIEW ------------------ As of 7 PM CDT, the center of Tropical Storm Barry was located near latitude 30.7 North, longitude 92.7 West. Barry is moving north-northwest near 8 mph. An eventual turn to the north is expected later tonight. On this forecast track, the center of Barry will move into northern Louisiana later tonight. Sustained tropical storm force winds are still occurring over portions of south-central and east-central Louisiana this evening. Bands of moderate to heavy rainfall are also impacting lower Acadiana. Finally, life threatening storm surge is occurring around Vermilion and Atchafalaya Bays with the potential for inundation of 6 feet or greater above ground level. POTENTIAL IMPACTS ----------------- * FLOODING RAIN: Potential impacts from the flooding rain are still unfolding across lower Acadiana.

NWS update 4:30pm, 7/13/19.
We should see the beginning effects around 7pm tonight. Still moving slightly to the West. Has even more of a chance of affecting Evangeline parish. Wind gusts of 55 to 64 mph. Expect power outages and wind damages. Also, expect flooded roads and property. Isolated tornadoes are possible.
