🌳Tonight, Pinecrest gave a vote of confidence to our 27 years of professional and scandal-free government, to our Village Council, and to the democratic system that created the beautiful Village we love. Thank you for supporting Pinecrest! We are humbled and proud to have worked to support VOTE NO, which prevailed today.

Over the past few months, our community engaged in vigorous debate and residents expressed their opinions on both sides, resulting in high voter turnout. Thank you to everyone who voted, to the thousands who spoke out in person, online and by placing signs on their front lawns.

Along the way, Pinecrest Friends has built a truly grassroots group of neighbors - and now friends - who will continue to stay engaged in protecting and preserving Pinecrest and our quality of life.

We look forward to working together with all residents to keep Pinecrest a wonderful place to live.

· Pinecrest Friends

Pinecrest has flourished for 25+ years. Property values are at an all-time high. Our parks, amenities and small-town charm make us one of the most sought-after communities in South Florida. But a small group of residents wants to put all that at risk. They claim that Pinecrest is broken. They

"This is our home. It is up to us to see our way out. It is up to us to bury this unhinged referendum with a decisive vote." - Councilwoman Shannon del Prado in Miami Herald.

The deadline is coming - Vote No Today!

If you have driven through Pinecrest recently, you may have noticed our community is dotted with Vote No and Vote Yes signs. This is an aberration for our serene, family-friendly village.

Imagine if we had to vote on every decision the U.S. Congress made about the Defense Department. It would create total gridlock - making it impossible for our government to make important decisions big and small about the future and safety of our country.

Ruling by referendum doesn't make sense for Congress, and it doesn't make sense for Pinecrest.

This amendment is not about major changes to our zoning code. It's not even about U.S. 1. It's about almost ALL changes to our zoning and land development regulations - issues like how to regulate AirBNBs and how to flood plain regulations mandated by the federal government. It is overly broad and drastic, and it would hamstrung our local elected officials from quickly making decisions that protect our village.

This amendment also does NOT give us any new rights or powers. We as residents already have the power to petition for a vote on any zoning change we don't like. That right is in our charter and always has been.

Today is President's Day, where we honor the founders of our country who designed this representative democracy where we elect people to make decisions for us. This system has built this beautiful community we all enjoy, and is consistently ranked a top community to live in in South Florida.

Vote no and maintain the status quo.
