A pedestrian is killed in a traffic crash approximately every 74 minutes in the United States.

As summer activity increases across Sublette County, we encourage everyone to make safety a priority. Drivers should remain alert for pedestrians and yield where required. Pedestrians should use crosswalks and sidewalks whenever available and stay aware of surrounding traffic.

Traffic safety is a shared responsibility. Whether you're driving, walking, running, or biking, please do your part to help prevent a tragedy.

Stay safe and enjoy your summer.

Sadly, a pedestrian is killed every 74 minutes in traffic crashes. Remember, at some point in the day EVERYONE is a pedestrian:

🚶‍➡️ Follow the rules of the road
🚶‍➡️ Use crosswalks when available
🚶‍➡️ Walk on sidewalks when available

🚘 Look out for pedestrians and minimize blind spots
🚘 Be careful in hard-to-see conditions
🚘 Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks

This Memorial Day, the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy every day, and their courage will never be forgotten.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the veterans and active service members within our office and throughout our community. Your commitment to serving others—both in uniform and here at home—reflects the very best of our country.

Today, we remember the fallen, honor those who served, and stand united in gratitude for the sacrifices made on behalf of us all.

Freedom isn’t free.
