UPDATE PUBLIC NOTICE:
02/27/2026

This notice provides an important update regarding the ongoing BIA Route 125 Bridge Project in Mountain View.

The closure of BIA Route 125 (Highway to Pinehill, NM) in Mountain View at the Bridge—originally scheduled to end on Friday, February 27, 2026—has been extended through Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
This extension is necessary due to crane-related delays that prevented the contractor from safely completing the concrete pour. While unforeseen issues can occur during construction, maintaining structural integrity, safety, and compliance with engineering standards remains our highest priority.

The designated detour via BIA Route 122 (Gravel Road) will remain in effect throughout the extended closure. Because of increased traffic along this roadway, dust-control measures will be applied to maintain visibility and reduce impacts on residents living along the detour route.

Updated maps for detour routes will be provided soon.

Please follow all posted speed limits when traveling on BIA Route 122 (Gravel Road) and remain alert for livestock. We encourage all drivers to plan ahead and allow an additional 30 minutes to ensure timely arrival at your destination. Speeding or passing other vehicles at high speeds on gravel roads is extremely dangerous and puts you and other motorists at risk.

Please share this update to help ensure that the Ramah Navajo community and travelers headed to Pine Hill receive this important information.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to complete this critical infrastructure improvement safely and efficiently.
