MCEDP hosted an informative Moore 100 Members Meeting at the Moore County Airport SOP yesterday, and what a cool & unique experience to meet in a hangar! ✈️

Guest speakers Jack Penning, Rick Cloutier, and Adam Kiker shared exciting updates on major initiatives underway at the Airport including terminal & hangar expansions and the latest on efforts to bring back commercial air service. More than $1.7 million has been pledged so far for the minimum revenue guarantee required to secure daily service to/from Washington Dulles Airport by next spring.

MCEDP worked closely with Amazon.com officials to bring their distribution facility to the Southern Pines Corporate Park in Moore County, and we were excited to participate in a tour of the WNC8 facility last week.

One of the things I love about my job is visiting with our businesses and learning about their operations!! Yesterday we toured the new 60,000 square foot Amazon distribution facility in Southern Pines, or WNC8. 🙏 A BIG thanks to Sam Blatt, CEcD and Jeremy Vida for hosting us!!!

Business and tourism groups in the Pinehurst area are trying to persuade an airline to begin daily flights from Moore County Airport to Washington, D.C.
