We had a lost tool turned into the PD a few days ago. We contacted who we thought owned it, but it wasn't them.

Hint- It takes a battery and fell from a truck.

Residents of Pinehurst,

After discussing the extreme fire danger that we are currently observing, and seeing what happened so rapidly in Spokane, the Mayor and I are begging you to NOT have any fires on your property. The risk is too high, and the vegetation is too dry.

The City of Pinehurst doesn't have a method to require you to not have a fire in your backyard fire pit, but I will advise you that if your fire leaves the fire pit and does ANY damage to property that is not your own, you WILL be responsible for any loss of life or replacement of personal property to include your neighbor's homes, vehicles, etc.

It doesn't take any more than an ember to get things out of control.

Thank you for your help in keeping our county safe.

Pinehurst Days starts tomorrow. Here is a list of vendors.
Vendors- the space number is to help you in the morning if you get there before the volunteers.

The Chief of Police will be sitting in the dunk tank on Saturday trying to raise money for bullet proof vests and other safety gear. Don't forget the car show, parade, burnouts, and so many other fun things to do!

Get ready to have fun!

It is with great sorrow to report that Russell Lebourdais was found deceased. Next of kin has been notified. Kootenai County Sheriff's Office located him.
Thank you to all the agencies and volunteers that helped with the search.
There is no further information to be released at this time.

THE ROADS COULD BE BLOCKED INTERMITTENLY THROUGHT THESES DAYS. PLEASE REMOVE ALL VEHICLES FROM THE RIGHT OF WAY. ANY VEHICLES, TRAILERS, ETC IN THE RIGHT OF WAY WILL BE TOWED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. Residents, we had an incident tonight at the Pinehurst Elementary School.
A vehicle stopped at the north side parking lot and lit a box of fireworks labeled "Rover Ripper."
One of the males drink the vehicle took the box and tried to fit it into the trash can next to the school building but it wouldn't fit, so he placed it on top and they drove away.

A few minutes later the box erupted in flames, destroying the trash can. A man drove up and drug the trash can away from the building saving the school, then drove away.

Two things to discuss.
1. Always submerge fireworks in water before disposal.
2. Help me identify the male in the picture. He needs to pay for the trash can.
