Pineland VFD assisted Bronson RFVD on a structural fire on FM 1 today. The structure was vacant and there were no injuries.

Pineland FD on the scene of a woods/grass fire today. Fire was on a pipeline off of Bill Lowe RD. Fire was contained to about an acre in size. Bronson, and Lake Rayburn FDs also responded.

Remembering the Shearwood Creek fire

On this day three years ago, Pineland FD played a crucial role in combating the devastating Shearwood Creek fire in northern Jasper County. The blaze engulfed approximately 3,700 acres, resulting in the destruction of 6 homes, 3 camp houses, and 7 outbuildings/sheds. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. The fire was exacerbated by high winds and dry timber and vegetation, as the region was experiencing an extreme drought at the time. This incident remains etched in the memories of the firefighters who responded.

Around 5:45 am this morning PVFD responded to a 2 vehicle accident, involving a car and 18 wheeler on Hwy 96 near the new travel center. There were NO serious injuries. Remember to pay close attention in construction zones and all vehicles around you.
