🎉 Exciting news for the Tampa Bay region! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that three U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) FY25 Disaster Supplemental Grants have been awarded in our region, helping strengthen economic recovery and resilience following recent extreme weather events.

✅ Hernando County Government received $13.6 million for critical infrastructure improvements at the Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport (BKV), supporting aviation development, job creation, and long-term economic growth.
✅ The City of Treasure Island, received $125,000 to develop an Economic Revitalization and Resiliency Plan focused on industry diversification, business attraction, and guiding post-hurricane rebuilding efforts.
✅ Tampa Bay Wave received $1.4 million to launch a pilot accelerator initiative designed to foster economic resilience in the wake of Hurricanes Idalia, Helene, and Milton.

These investments will help our communities rebuild stronger, create opportunities, and enhance resilience across the Tampa Bay region 🙌

🌊 Building Regional Resilience Through Coastal Flooding Training 🌊

Last week, we were proud to facilitate a free, in-person, two-day training led by the NOAA Office for Coastal Management on coastal inundation mapping.

A total of 26 GIS professionals, Certified Floodplain Managers, and scientists participated, representing organizations from across the Tampa Bay region, including Citrus County, Hernando County, Pasco County, Pinellas County, Hillsborough County, Manatee County, the City of St. Petersburg, and the Florida Flood Hub.

As sea levels rise and extreme weather events become more frequent, technical training like this helps equip local governments and partners with the tools needed to better prepare for high tide flooding, hurricanes, and intense rainfall events ⛈️

Special thanks to Doug Marcy and Matthew Pendleton for traveling from NOAA's Office for Coastal Management in Charleston, SC, to share their expertise and lead this valuable training!

Working together, we're strengthening our region's ability to anticipate, plan for, and respond to coastal flood risks 🤝

Security Alarm Corporation is a great company to work with. The installers did a thorough job, asked questions, and worked with us and our tenants when we had some timing issues. Systems Consultant Kevin Nyguen provided our system to us; he is knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. We look forward to working with SAC again when our Access Control System is installed.
