Our Hearts Are With Our Neighbors

Last night's storm in Heber-Overgaard is a reminder of just how quickly circumstances can change. While tornadoes are extremely rare in our area, severe weather and unexpected emergencies can happen anywhere.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the storm, especially those who have experienced damage to their homes, businesses, and property. The Town of Pinetop-Lakeside extends our thoughts, prayers, and support to our neighbors as they begin the process of recovery.

Events like this also serve as an important reminder that emergency preparedness matters, even when the threat seems unlikely.

One of the simplest and most important steps you can take to protect yourself and your family is to sign up for Ready Navajo County, our local emergency notification system. These alerts can provide critical information during severe weather, wildfires, evacuations, and other emergencies.

Sign up today:
https://www.navajocountyaz.gov/282/Ready-Navajo-County-Notification-System

Please take a few minutes to register and encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same.

Emergencies don't always come with much warning. Being informed and prepared can make all the difference.

Thank You to Our Public Safety Partners!

The Pinetop-Lakeside Police Department would like to extend our sincere thanks to the agencies and volunteers who came together to help make the 2026 Pinetop-Lakeside Fall Festival Parade a safe and successful event.

Events like this require a tremendous amount of coordination, particularly when it comes to managing traffic, securing the parade route, and keeping participants and spectators safe. We are grateful to have neighboring agencies and volunteers who are willing to step in and work alongside us when our community needs them.

A special thank you to:
Navajo County Sheriff’s Office
Navajo County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers (SAVs)
Show Low Police Department
Show Low Senior Patrol
Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS)

Your time, professionalism, and support were an important part of making the parade possible.

Public safety is a team effort, and we appreciate the strong partnerships we have throughout the White Mountains and Navajo County. Thank you for helping us keep Pinetop-Lakeside safe while our community came together to celebrate!

A heartfelt thank you to the students and staff at Explore AZ School for including our officers in their 9/11 remembrance. Our officers were honored to be there and to hear the students sing for our local first responders.

Moments like this mean more than you know. Thank you to these young students for taking the time to recognize those who serve our community, while also helping keep the memory and sacrifices of September 11, 2001 alive for the next generation.

We are grateful to serve such a thoughtful and supportive community.
